Viola M. Jackson, age 91, of
Woodstown died Friday morning, October 19, 2007 at her home. She had
been in declining health for the past year.
Born in Morvan, North Carolina on
June 10, 1916 she was the daughter of the late Mike and Ila Marshall
Conrad and the wife of Hilbert Jackson. She had lived in Woodstown since
1953 and prior to that had resided in Swedesboro and North Carolina.
Mrs. Jackson was a homemaker and a
member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Salem where she had served with the
Deaconess Board of the Church.
In addition to her husband Hilbert,
she is survived by a son, Thomas McKenzie, Jr. of Paulsboro; four
daughters, Ida Chappell of Roosevelt, NY, Shirlain Hullex-Brown of
Bridgeton, Idella Leaks of Erial and Leola Beatty of Sicklerville; two
sisters, Catherine Cash of Cheraw, SC and Itess Robinson of Morvan, NC;
two brothers, Willie B. Conrad of Winston-Salem, NC and James R. Conrad
of Wadesboro, NC. She was predeceased by two sons, Bernard McKenzie and
Robert Washington, two sisters, Leona Dean and Elizabeth Pegues and two
brothers, Andrew and Billy Conrad.
Graveside funeral services will be
held on Friday morning October 26th at 11 a.m. at the Salem County
Veterans Cemetery where the interment will follow the services.
Friends may call on Thursday evening
from 6 to 8 p.m. at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77,
Upper Deerfield Township.
