Wayne T. Homan

Wayne T. Homan, 71, of Upper Deerfield Township and formerly of Hopewell Township, died Monday, September 3, 2007, in Jeanes Hospital, Philadelphia.

The husband of Marlene “Mollie” Corson Homan, he was born in Millville and was the son of the late Stanton C. Homan and Beatrice Curlis Homan. He had lived at his present address for 3 years and prior to that had resided in Hopewell Township for 36 years.

Retired since 1992, he had been employed with Bell-Atlantic Telephone Co. for 35 years. He had received the companies Citizen of the Month Award in Sept. of 1988.

Wayne had formerly served as co-scout master of Troop 31, Boy Scouts of America, based in the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and was active in backpacking and hiking.

He was a member of West Park United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the United States Navy. A graduate of the Bridgeton High School Class of 1954, he loved being with his grandchildren and was an avid camper and fisherman.

Besides his wife, survivors include: one daughter, Terri (James) Ott, Upper Deerfield Twp.; one son, Gary (Bonnie) Homan, Upper Deerfield Twp.; seven grandchildren, Barbara (Steve) Wilchensky, Jacob Ott, Zach Ott, Corey Gaburo, Jamie Ott and Chad (Michelle) Ott all of Upper Deerfield Township and Karen (Rob) Capelli, Deerfield Township; five great grandchildren, Tyler White, Emily Wilchensky, Stephen Wilchensky, Cody Capelli and Gianna Capelli and two brothers, Barry (Genie) Homan of Bridgeton and Florida and Roger Homan, Bridgeton. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Homan.

Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Friday morning, Sept. 7th, at 10:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Overlook Cemetery, Bridgeton. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening between 7:00 and 9:00 O’clock. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations, in Mr. Homan’s memory, to West Park United Methodist Church Building Fund, 625 Shiloh Pike, Bridgeton, N. J. 08302.
