Inez Bennett, age 87, of Deerfield
Township passed from this life on Thursday, April 3, 2008.
She was born in Miami, Florida on
March 31, 1921 to the late Levingston Rolle and Harriet Taylor Rolle who
were both originally from Nassau, Bahamas. One of nine children, she was
the wife of the late Ronald G. Bennett whom she loved dearly and met in
1951 when she came to the Salem area from Florida and then married in
1952.
She moved to Bridgeton and resided
there until the passing of her husband in 2003. She spent the last 5
years living with her daughter, Patricia in Millville. She was a
wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and
friend.
Inez was employed with the Anchor
Hocking Company in Salem for 30 years before her retirement.
A member of St. Matthews Church in
Quinton, she loved Jesus Christ our Lord above all things.
She served as church treasurer and
often traveled throughout the U.S. visiting other churches and
fellowshipping with others.
Surviving are her daughter, Patricia
Bayron-Burton of Millville; three sons, Norman Rolle of Deerfield
Township, Alfred Lamar of Bridgeton and Ronald Bennett, Jr., of
Millville; a brother, Ezekiel Rolle of Quinton; a sister, Esther Rolle
of Salem and their spouses, 13 grandchildren and a host of
great-grandchildren including Herbert Woodard whom she raised as her
own. There are also two God-daughters, Nita Moment and Vita Walker of
Philadelphia and many lifelong friends.
She was also predeceased by a
daughter, MaryLou Woodard, a granddaughter, Anita McClough and 6
siblings.
Funeral services will be held on
Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. at Union Baptist Temple, South Pine and
Willow Streets in Bridgeton.
Burial will take place at Fordville
Memorial Park in Fairfield Township.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 9
a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
