Pearl M. Byfield, 75, of Bridgeton,
died at the South Jersey Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, April 16,
2008, after an extended illness. She had been a patient at the hospital
for 2 months.
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, she had lived in Bridgeton for five months,
coming from Red Bank.
She had previously been self-employed as an assistant to the elderly.
Survivors include: four daughters, Marie Marshall, Bridgeton, Pauline
Lee, Maryland, Carol Lee Cunningham, Port Moore, Jamaica and Joan Lee,
Spanishtown, Jamaica; her mother, Ida Stewart, Kingston, Jamaica; twelve
grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; two brothers and two
sisters in Jamaica and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Pilgrim Baptist Church, 172
ShrewsburyAve., Red Bank, on Friday morning, April 25th, at 11 a.m.
A committal service will be held at Fordville Memorial Park, Fairfield
Township on Saturday morning, April 26th, at 11a.m.
Friends may call on Friday morning from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the
services at the church.
