Charles Frank Hess, Jr., age 77, of
Upper Deerfield Township died at his home on Saturday, April 5, 2008. He
had been in declining health for the past two years.
Born in Morgantown, West Virginia he was the son of the late Charles F.
Hess and Helen Hall Hess and was the husband of Hope Espi Hess. He had
lived in Upper Deerfield Township for 47 years and prior to that resided
in Bridgeton.
Before his retirement in 1984 he had been employed with the former
Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Bridgeton for 34 years.
Mr. Hess was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served with the
United States Army.
Frank was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed playing cards and dancing.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Dawson
and her husband Marc of Montana and Sandra Myers and her husband Wayne
of Pittsgrove Township; two sons, Charles F. Hess, III and his wife
Jackie of Deerfield Township and John R. Hess and his wife Ruth of
Quinton along with 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family
at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Township where the interment will
follow the services.
Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper
Deerfield Township.
