Milton W. Pierce, 71, of Hopewell
Township, died in the South Jersey HospiceCare Unit in Bridgeton, on
Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, following a lengthily illness.
The husband of the late Christine Miller Pierce, he was born in
Bridgeton and was the son of the late Milton A. Pierce and Vera Cuff
Pierce. He had resided in Hopewell Township for 64 years, moving there
from Bridgeton.
Prior to his retirement, Milton had been employed with the former
Owens-Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton for 13 years. After his retirement
he had been self-employed in the landscaping and lawn care business for
several years.
He was a member of the King Memorial Church in Bridgeton and the
Nanticoke Leni Lenape Indians. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include: one daughter, Mary Brent, Hopewell Township; two
sons, Milton W. Pierce, Jr., Vineland and Albert L. Pierce and his wife
Rena, Hopewell Township; a brother-in-law, Max Goldsborough, Hopewell
Township; five grandchildren, Nadine Brent, Christopher Brent, Catina
Brent, Lakeisha Pierce and Albert Pierce, Jr. and five great
grandchildren, Ezekiel Brent, Jayshawn Johnson, Israel Brent, John
Cadogan, IV and Flor Nava. He was preceded in death by two sisters,
Victoria Green and Thelma Goldsborough.
Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the
family. Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL
