Mary D. Correia, age 67, of
Meridianville, Alabama and formerly of Bridgeton died suddenly of
natural causes at her home on February 24, 2008.
Born on July 6, 1940 she was the
daughter of Jeffrey and Mary Mosley of Bridgeton and was the youngest of
ten children. In 1958 she married Harold Banks with whom she gave birth
to four of her five children. In 1968 she divorced and relocated to
Massachusetts. She later became remarried to Joseph Correia, Jr. with
whom she had a son, Joseph, II.
In addition to her own children, Mary
was a foster parent to numerous children whom she brought into her home,
shared her love and affection and watched mature into responsible and
productive citizens.
She is survived by her children,
Harold L. Banks, Jr., Rosalind Banks Cosme, Audrey Banks, Andrea Banks
and Joseph Correia, II; sisters, Edith Mayhew, Pauline Truitt, Priscilla
Robbins and Gladys Goldsboro; a brother, William Mosley, six grandsons,
five granddaughters, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and many loving
friends.
Funeral services will be held on
Tuesday, March 4th at 11 a.m. at St. John United Methodist Church,
Fordville Road, Fairfield Township.
Burial will follow the services at
Fordville Memorial Park , Fairfield Township.
At the families request there will be
no public viewing.
