Richard “Goldie” Goldsborough, Sr.,
age 65, of Bridgeton died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at
the South Jersey Regional Medical Center where he had been a patient for
nine days.
A lifetime Bridgeton resident he was
the son of the late Ira Goldsborough and Delores Williams Goldsborough
and the husband of Yvonne Moore Goldsborough.
Mr. Goldsborough was a veteran of the
Vietnam Conflict having served with the United States Army.
He was currently employed with
Seabrook Brothers and Sons in Upper Deerfield Township and had retired
from the General Motors Corporation Newark, Delaware plant as a
supervisor after 25 years of service.
In addition to his wife, he is
survived by three daughters, Teresa, Valerie and Catina Goldsborough all
of Bridgeton; two sons, Richard G. Goldsborough, Jr. and his wife
Margarita and Dequan McGriff both of Bridgeton; one sister, Barbara J.
Goldsborough of Bridgeton; three brothers, I. Maxwell Goldsborough of
Hopewell Township, Willard S. Goldsborough of Candor, NC and Harvey H.
Goldsborough of Bridgeton, 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren
along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three
brothers, Lawrence, Donald and Chester Goldsborough and four sisters,
Robena Pitts, Veronica Goldsborough Betty Brown
and Dolores A. Goldsborough.
Funeral services will be held on
Wednesday, February 20th at 11 a.m. at the Bridgeton Assembly of God
Church, 424 Indian Avenue, Bridgeton.
Burial will take place at Fordville
Memorial Park in Fairfield Township.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 10
to 11 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
