Moretha Amanda Harris, 53, of
Bridgeton, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, in Beth Isreal
Hospital, Newark, N. J.
The wife of the late Victor Harris, who passed away in 2004, she was
born in Belle Glade, Florida and was the daughter of the late Frederick
Henry and Elizabeth Brown Henry. She had been a lifelong area resident.
Moretha was a licensed daycare provider in her home. She loved children
and would do anything for anyone and never turned anyone away.
She was a Mother and Deaconess of her church, Shabach Power House
Deliverance Church in Millville, where she would give guidance and
encouraging words to others. She loved helping others and spending time
with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include: one daughter, Shawonne Harris Womack and her husband
Tyrone, Vineland; one son, Dwayne Harris, Bridgeton; three
grandchildren, Tashayna, Tyrell and Shontese; two sisters, Viola Bell,
Vineland, Mary Codner and her husband Jeroboam, Millville; two brothers,
Charles Griffin, Jr. and Levi Henry, both of Bridgeton and many nieces
and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny B. Dunklin.
Funeral services will be held in the John Wesley United Methodist
Church, Baltimore Ave., Bridgeton, on Saturday morning, Feb. 23, at
11:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Hopewell
Township. A viewing will be held at the church on Saturday morning
between 10:00 and 11:00 O’clock. Funeral arrangements are under the
direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township.
