Leslie A. Brida, nee Sutton, age 48
of Hopewell Township lost her courageous battle with Lou Gehrigs Disease
(ALS) on January 5, 2008 at the HospiceCare Center in Bridgeton
surrounded by her family and in the loving care of the hospice unit
staff.
She was diagnosed with ALS in July of
2006 and bravely faced the challenges of this devastating neuromuscular
disease one day at a time. Until her recent stay with HospiceCare she
had been cared for by her family at her home.
She was a loving wife, mother,
grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend of anyone who needed one.
She was happiest when surrounded by her family especially her
grandchildren. An inspiration to all those whose lives she touched, she
led by example and was respected by her coworkers at A-Tech Engineering
in Vineland where she had worked for 12 years until poor health forced
to retire in July of 2006.
For those of us who love her we are
and forever will be “Leslie’s Soldiers.” Your heart is not judged by how
much you love but by how much you are loved by others and there was
standing room only as Leslie took her last breath. One that was loved by
all and adored by most, she was willing to give all of herself to the
ones she loved and she loved so many. Though ALS had taken all that she
was and Heaven was in her grasp, she still fought and endured the pain
of her moving on. An amazing woman who’s love may possibly only be
surpassed by one, she leaves behind the idea that you should love your
neighbor more than you love yourself.
She will be missed by her loving
husband, Michael, her parents, Paul “Reds” Sutton, Jr. and June Tozer
Sutton of Lawrence Township; two daughters, Stephanie R.
Roberts-Campbell of Cape May Court House and Tracie A. Roberts-Williams
of Stow Creek Township; one son, Brandon Bowen of Fairfield Township;
two stepsons, Michael Darick of Deerfield Township and Michael Brida,
Jr. of Elkton, MD; one stepdaughter, Jessica M. Brida of Elkton, MD;
three brothers, Paul Sutton, III and Richard Sutton both of Fairfield
Township and David Sutton of Millville; one sister, Lisa Muntz of
Lawrence Township and five grandchildren, Camryn, Evin, Emilee, Alex,
Joey and her faithful companion, Chichi.
Funeral services will be held at the
