Maria Vasquez Colon, 87, of
Bridgeton, died Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 2, 2008, in South Jersey
Regional Medical Center, Vineland. She had been in failing health for
the past 3 years.
The wife of the late Amadeo Ocasio Pena, she was born in Sangerman,
Puerto Rico and was the daughter of the late Lopez Vasquez-Hallala and
Christina Colon-Montaldo. She had been a Bridgeton resident for 40 years
and prior to that had lived in Puerto Rico.
Mrs. Colon was a homemaker.
Survivors include: four sons, Lucindo Ocasio Colon, Puerto Rico, Jaun
Colon, Bridgeton, Fernando Ocasio Colon, Puerto Rico and Pedro Colon,
Bridgeton and three daughters, Luz Maria Ocasio Colon, Bridgeton, Maria
Luz Ocasio Colon, Bridgeton and Santa Ocasio Colon, Florida.
Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State
Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Monday afternoon, Jan. 7, at
1:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Fernwood Memorial Park, Hopewell
Township. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Monday afternoon
between 12:00 and 1:00 O’clock. Written condolences may be sent to the
