Edward A. Exel, age 81, of Hopewell
Township died late Thursday evening, January 17, 2008 at Thomas
Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. He had been in declining health for
the past year.
Born in Bridgeton, he was the son of
the late Edward and Adelaide Exel and the loving husband of Elena
McKnight Exel to whom he had been married for 59 years. He had been a
Hopewell Township resident for 26 years and prior to that had resided in
Fairfield Township for 33 years.
Mr. Exel graduated from Bridgeton
High School with the Class of 1944 and then entered the military. He was
a veteran of World War Two serving with the United States Army in the
Asiatic and Pacific Theaters. After serving his country he began working
for the Middle Department Association of Fire Underwriters in Pennsauken
and then the former International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers
Local 592 in Vineland for 22 years.
In addition to his loving wife, he is
survived by his two dearly beloved children, a son, Edward L. Exel and
his wife Alice (Ballinger) of Hopewell Township; a daughter, Sandra J.
Nardelli and her husband William of Hopewell Township; four beloved
grandchildren, Edward L. Exel, Jr., Kimberly Exel Stanger, William J.
Nardelli, Jr. and James N. Nardelli, II; three precious
great-grandchildren, Adam and Andrew Exel and Lauren Stanger.
Private funeral services will be held
at the convenience of the family from the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107
State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Township.
Burial will be take place at Overlook
Cemetery in Bridgeton.
