Evelyn S. Glaspey, age 82, of
Greenwich died Monday morning July 21, 2008 at Cumberland Manor in
Hopewell Township. She had been in declining health for the past ten
years and a resident at Cumberland Manor since 2002.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland she was the daughter of the late Walter W.
Smith and Ella Day Smith and was the wife of the late Albert L. Glaspey.
She had been a Greenwich resident for over 60 years coming to the area
from Baltimore.
Prior to her retirement Mrs. Glaspey had been employed in the Nursing
Department Bridgeton Hospital for several years.
An avid country music fan, she had belonged to a travel club that took
her to several destinations including those where country music was the
focus. She enjoyed crocheting and loved the company of her cat “Muffy”.
She is survived by a son, Albert H. Glaspey of Greenwich, 3
grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Frank C. Glaspey in 1987 and a number of
brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State
Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Friday, July 25th at 10:30
a.m. with the Rev. Elizabeth L. Wilson, pastor of the Greenwich
Presbyterian Church officiating.
Burial will take place at Greenwich Presbyterian Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the
services at the funeral home.
