Carol A. Swift, age 60, of Cedarville
died early Saturday morning, July 26th, 2008 at the home of her son
Paul, where she was staying under the care of Hospice following a
lengthly illness.
Born in Bridgeton, the daughter of the late Howard “Hap” McPherson and
Adeline Steever McPherson she was the wife of Fred J. Swift, Sr. She had
been a Cedarville resident for 40 years and had lived in Newport prior
to that.
Carol had previously worked in the Library at the Myron L. Powell
Elementary School in Cedarville, and had also worked for the Prudential
Insurance Company in Millville and had driven a school bus for the
Zimmerman Bus Company in Newport for a number of years.
She loved her family and especially her grandson Zachary. In years past
she was active with the Cinderella Soft Ball League in Lawrence Township
and had also served as a coach. She greatly enjoyed working with
ceramics and working in the yard around her home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Fred J.
Swift, Jr. and his wife Iris of Rosenhayn, Paul H. Swift of Cedarville
and Mark O. Swift and his wife Holli of Hopewell Township; four sisters,
Doris M. Blizzard of Newport, Virginia L. Shull of Cedarville, Sharon K.
Knipe of Newport, Nancy J. Campbell of Dividing Creek and her grandson,
Zachary Swift.
Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 160 Main
Street, Cedarville on Friday, August 1st at 10 a.m.
Burial will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedarville.
Friends may call on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral
home.
