Lenore P. Williams

Lenore P. Williams, age 85, of Bridgeton died Friday, June 6, 2008 at Cumberland Manor in Hopewell Township. She had been in declining health for the past two years.

A longtime Bridgeton resident, Lenore was born on October 11, 1922 in Philadelphia and was the daughter of the late James Adams and Anna Finke Adams. She was predeceased by two husbands, Merle Bailey, II with whom she had three children and Robert F. Williams.

Prior to her retirement she had served as secretary to the Superintendent of Bridgeton Public Schools for 8 years. She had also proudly served at the American Embassy in Japan for two years and was honored for her outstanding achievements with the General Electric Corporation where she had worked with classified clearance for 28 years in the Missile and Space Division.

Lenore was a member of the Cohansey Baptist Church and the Bridgeton High School Class of 1940 where she had been head majorette.

Surviving are a daughter, Pauline Bailey Howard; two sons, Merle Bailey, III and Don Bailey; four grandchildren, Danielle, Brian, Scott and Lauren Marie and a great-grandson, Dylan Rivers.

Memorial services will be held at the Cohansey Baptist Church, 714 Roadstown Road on Thursday, June 12th at 10 a.m.

Friends may call on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. prior to the services at the church.

Burial will follow the services at the Cohansey Baptist Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Mrs. William’s memory be made to the Cohansey Baptist Church, 714 Roadstown Road, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
