Leslie V. Bailey, age 89, of Upper
Deerfield Township died Friday, March 7, 2008 at South Jersey
Hospital-Elmer where she had been a patient for four days. Her death was
unexpected.
Born in Latham, NY, the daughter of
the late Charles L. Sipperley and Beatrice Foster Sipperley she was the
wife of the late John “Jack” Bailey. She had been an Upper Deerfield
Township resident for 47 years coming here from Florida.
Mrs. Bailey was a homemaker and also
an active volunteer with many local organizations including her work
with the American Legion Shoemaker Post # 95, Bridgeton and the AL-ANON
Chapter at Seabrook House. She had also edited children’s books by
transferring the written content into brail so they could be enjoyed by
the blind.
She had formerly attended the
Cohansey Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Gary S.
Bailey and twin sons, Bruce M. and Brad E. Bailey and his wife Beverly
all of Upper Deerfield Township along with 11 grandchildren and 8 great
grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Foster Sipperley.
Funeral services will be held at the
PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Township
on Tuesday, March 11th at 11 a.m.
Burial will take place at Laurel Lawn
Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Township.
Friends may call on Tuesday morning
from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
