Charles R. Casper, 79, of Bridgeton,
died at the South Jersey Regional Medical Center on Thursday, March 6,
2008. He had been in declining health for 4 months and was a patient at
the hospital for the past 2 days.
The husband of Betty Gandy Casper, he was born in Bridgeton and was the
son of the late Lewis Casper and Marguerite Koerner Casper. He had lived
at his present address for 42 years and prior to that had been a
resident of Hopewell Township. Mr. & Mrs. Casper had celebrated 55 years
of marriage this past Feb. 14th.
Retired for the past 17 years, Charles had been employed with Atlantic
City Electric Co. 38 years.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and was a member of Shoemaker Post
95, American Legion of Bridgeton.
Besides his wife, survivors include: one sister, Elvira Garton,
Fairfield Township and several nieces and nephews, including a special
nephew, George Courtlyn Garton. Charles was preceded in death by a
sister-in-law, Dolly Loyle and two brothers-in-law, Buddy Gandy and
George Garton.
Funeral services will be private, at the convenience of the family.
There will be no public viewing. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery,
Cedarville. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations, in Mr.
Casper’s memory, to the charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements
