Ralph J. Smith, 79, of Monroeville,
died Monday, March 31, 2008, in Cooper Medical Center, Camden. He had
been in failing health for the past 2 months and was a patient at the
hospital for 5 weeks.
The husband of K. Ann Menajlo Smith, he was born in Woodbury and was the
son of the late Harry J. Smith and Jeanette Epley Smith. He had been a
resident of Monroeville for 30 years and prior to that had resided in
Washington Township.
Ralph had been a farmer all of his working life and still owned and
operated Fruit Haven Farm in Monroeville.
Besides his wife, survivors include: one son, Robert H. Smith, Sewell; a
brother-in-law, John Menajlo and his wife Rose, Deerfield Township and
several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a son,
James Ralph Smith and two brothers, John B. Smith and H. Fred Smith.
Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State
Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Monday morning, April 7, at
10:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Deerfield Township.
A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Sunday evening between
