Ronald Joe Smith, age 57, of Silver
Springs, FL and formerly of Pittsgrove died Saturday, March 8, 2008 at
the Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala.
Born in Grassy Fork, TN and a native
of Newport, TN he was the son of Elmeda Raines Smith and the late Joe
Garfield Smith. He was the husband of Shelley Kay Beal Smith.
He moved to Marion County, FL in 1978
from Pittsgrove. There he owned and operated Cousin’s Tree Service and
was a member of the East Marion Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
An auto enthusiast, Ron was also
active in many local car shows with his award winning 1970 Dodge Dart.
In addition to his wife of 25 years,
Shelley, he is survived by his mother, Elmeda of Silver Springs, FL;
three daughters, Tracy Sue Smith and Ashley Lynn Smith both of Silver
Springs and Samantha R. Dyer of Dunnellon, FL; a son, Walter Kenneth
Smith of Pittsgrove; two sisters, Donna Jane Beckett of Greensboro, NC
and Linda Cottrell-Freda of Pittsgrove and two grandsons, Mark and
Joshua. He was predeceased by a brother,
John Mark Smith.
Funeral services will be held at the
PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Township
on Wednesday, March 19th at 2 p.m.
Burial will take place at Centerton
Free Will Baptist Cemetery in Pittsgrove Township.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 1
p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
