Bruce L. Anderson, age 75, of
Fairfield Township died unexpectedly on Friday, May 23, 2008 at St.
Mary’s Medical Center Emergency Room in Huntington, West Virginia after
becoming ill while he was driving a tour motor coach on a return trip
from Kentucky.
Born in Oak Park, Illinois he was the son of the late Carl A. Anderson
and Mary Hemple Anderson and the husband of Ellen “Polly” Rich Anderson.
He had been a Fairfield Township resident for 8 years and prior to that
had resided in Bridgeton.
Mr. Anderson was employed as a motor coach tour operator with the
Sheppard Bus Company in Fairton for the past 15 years. He had been a
truck driver for the former Venice Maid Foods Company in Vineland for 19
years.
A veteran of the United States Navy, he loved driving trucks and motor
coaches.
Bruce and Polly would have celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary
this coming June.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Paul Anderson of
Millville and Bruce Anderson and his wife Mary of Cedarville; four
stepsons, Gill Mehaffey, Addison Mehaffey and Robby Mehaffey all of
Elmer and Rocky Mehaffey of Bridgeton; two step daughters, Cindy Sooy of
Bridgeton, Tracy Anderson of Commercial Township, 9 grandchildren and 4
great-grandsons.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family
at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield
Township with the Rev. Thomas Austin, pastor of the Deerfield United
Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will take place at Deerfield Methodist Cemetery.
