Cosey L. Creighton, Jr., 83, of
Cedarville, died in the South Jersey Regional Medical Center on
Thursday, May 8, 2008, after an extended illness.
The husband of Violet Shaw Creighton, he was born in Fishing Creek, Md.
and was the son of the late Cosey L. Creighton and Alma Lewis Creighton.
He had been a resident of Cedarville for over 50 years.
Retired for the past 37 years, he had formerly been employed as a union
carpenter through Local 454 of Philadelphia.
Cosey was a veteran of World War Two, serving with the U. S. Navy in the
Pacific Theater.
He was a member of the American Legion in Vineland and the Veterans of
Foreign Wars in Vineland. He was an avid gardener and loved his children
and grandchildren.
Besides his wife, survivors include: four daughters, Vivian Cavaliero,
Cedarville, Nancy Molette and her husband James, Jr., Millville, Margie
Graves and her husband Steven, Hopewell Township and Christina Van
Breemen, Bridgeton; two sisters, Betty Burns and Nora Hoffman, both of
Millville; seven grandchildren, Alisa (Douglas) Werner, James Molette
III, John Molette, Stephanie Graves, Melanie Graves, Michelle (Harry)
Matish and Shannon (Christian) Crescenzo and three great grandchildren,
Abigail Matish, Chase Matish and Alyssa Molette. He was preceded in
death by a son, William James Creighton and a sister, Marie Jupin.
Funeral services will be private, at the convenience of the family, in
the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 160 Main St., Cedarville. Burial will be in
Cedar Hill Cemetery, Cedarville. There will be no public viewing.
