Betty L. Olson

Betty L. Olson, age 66, of Cosby, Tennessee died Monday, April 13, 2009 at the home of her son, Kevin in Commercial Township, where she had been residing due to poor health. She had been in declining health for the past nine months.

Born in Newport, Tennessee, the daughter of Sarah Williamson Dalton and the late Charles E. Dalton, she was the wife of the late David Olson. She had been living in Cosby for the past four and a half years and prior to that had resided in Commercial Township.

Before her retirement 10 years ago she had been employed with the Vineland Developmental Center for over 20 years. Prior to that she had worked at the Wheaton Plastics Company in Millville for over 20 years.

In addition to her mother, survivors include four sons, David K. Olson, Jr. (Sandra) of Sevierville, TN, Jeffrey S. Olson, Millville, Bryan E. Olson (Alisha) Newport, TN and Kevin M. Olson (Hope) of Commercial Township; two daughters, Donna J. Smith (Mack) and Cathy J. Souders (Albert) both of Commercial Township; three sisters, Gerry Dalton of Newport TN, Jackie Murray of Afton, TN and Margie Ford of Hartford, TN; three brothers, Jimmy Dalton of Edwina, TN, Darrell Dalton of Millville and Ricky Dalton of Cosby, TN, a special aunt, Polly Stuart of Parrottsville, TN, 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by 2 grandsons, Matthew G. Olson and Elijah R. Smith and a brother, Charles R. Dalton.

Cremation and inurnment took place at Laurel Lawn Crematory in Upper Deerfield Township.

A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held at the home of her daughter, Donna, at 1488 North Avenue, Port Norris, on Thursday, April 16th at 1 p.m. (856-785-0963).
