Charlotte Gates, age 64, of
Lakeland, FL and formerly of Fairfield Township, died Friday morning,
August 7, 2009 at the Hadlow Center Hospice Unit in Jacksonville, FL.
Born in Bridgeton, she was the
daughter of Anna Berry Gates Calkin of Newport and the late Albert C.
Gates, II. She had been a Lakeland resident since 1990 and prior to
that had resided in Fairfield Township.
Charlotte was employed as an
auditor with National Risk Services in St. Petersburg, FL and was a
member of the Ladies of the Lakes Quilt Guild in Lakeland.
In addition to her mother, she is
survived by two daughters, Michelle Kirby and her husband Chris of
Newton, NC and Jeanine Mackie-Peterson and her husband Jesse, Sr. of
Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, David Gates of Cedarville and Paul
Gates of Tampa, FL and four grandchildren, John Christopher Kirby,
Jesse Carl Peterson, Jr., William Kirby and Anna Grace Kirby.
Funeral services will be held at
the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield
Township on Tuesday, August 18th at 11 AM.
Burial will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedarville.
Friends will be received at the
funeral home on Monday evening, August 17th from 6 to 8 PM.
