Rhett “The Jet” Wulderk, age 61, of
Estell Manor and formerly of Ocean City and Bridgeton died Monday,
August 10, 2009 at Atlantic Care in Atlantic City the result of
injuries sustained in a tragic motorcycle accident on July 25th. He
was surrounded by loved ones daily following the accident especially
his daughter, Angel R. Wulderk of Millville and his companion, Opal
Wulderk of Estell Manor.
Born in Bridgeton, he was the son
of the late Arthur Wulderk and Aleda Sipe Wulderk.
Rhett was a self employed painter
and a veteran of the United States Air Force with an interest in
computers.
As a young boy he was very active
in all sports including a semipro baseball league, midget football
(GEMS) and varsity basketball and baseball.
A graduate of the Bridgeton High
School Class of 1966, he was a member of the Italian American
Political Club, the Italian American Civic Club, a great card player
and enjoyed “the horses” and casinos. He spent a great deal of time
riding his motorcycle and was a “Harley Davidson” lover and rider and
had just completed a bike restoration. He spent a great deal of his
free time being a loving caretaker and doing the cooking for his late
parents in Ocean City and was a poet and artist and enjoyed sharing
his poems with Ocean City poetry groups.
In addition to his daughter and
companion he is survived by a brother, Barry Wulderk and his wife
Emily of Hopewell Township; a niece, Leila Wulderk; two nephews,
Barrett Wulderk and Scott (Erin) Wulderk and three grandchildren,
Joshua, Britni and Blaine. He was predeceased by a brother, Arthur
Wulderk.
Memorial services will be held at
the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield
Township on Saturday, August 15th at 10 AM.
Cremation and inurnment took place
at Laurel Lawn Crematory in Upper Deerfield Township.
