Ellen (Davis) Prato, 87, passed
away on December 28, 2009 after a brief illness at South Jersey
Regional Medical Center in Vineland.
Born in Bridgeton, she was an area
resident for many years until moving to Millsboro, Delaware in 1991.
She returned to Bridgeton in 2007.
Ellen worked for the Atlantic City
Press for eleven years, and enjoyed her position as advertising
manager. It was there that she met her husband Paul Prato, who
preceded her in death in 2006.
She belonged to the Cohansey
Baptist Church in Roadstown, NJ. , she was a member of the Soroptomist
Club and served on the Board of Elections of Cumberland County.
Ellen loved China painting, antique
dealing, politics, reading, knitting and cooking.
Survivors include: one daughter, Ellen Davis of Bridgeton;
daughter-in-law, Ann Davis of Milmay; grandson, Eddie (Kay) Davis of
Media, PA; great-granddaughter, Penelope Davis of Media, PA. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Paul Prato in 2006; and her son,
Edward Davis in 2008.
Memorial Services will be held at
the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield
Township, on Thursday, December 31st at 2:30pm.
Inurnment will take place at the
Olivet Cemetery in Pittsgrove Township. Friends will be received
between 2 and 2:30pm. Written condolences may be sent to the family
