William J. Ale, age 81, of Hopewell
Township died Monday, February 16, 2009 at the home of his son Rodney
and Flossie Ale where he and his wife Alice had been staying recently
during illness. He had been in declining health for the past year and a
half.
Mr. Ale was born in Bridgeton and was
the son of the late Oakford Ale and Myrtle Shute Ale and was the husband
of Alice Karisko Ale. He was a Hopewell Township resident for 52 years
and had lived in Bridgeton prior to that.
He had owned and operated Ale’s
Nursery in Hopewell Township for 30 years and continued active on the
farm after its sale to his son Rodney for a total of 52 years. Before
that he was employed with the former Owens-Illinois Glass Company in
Bridgeton and did vegetable farming and custom harvesting and spraying
throughout the South Jersey area.
An avid snowmobiler for over 30
years, he was a member of the Elk Township Snowmobile Club. He and his
wife also enjoyed traveling.
In addition to his wife, he is
survived by three sons, Dennis Ale and Annie Olsen, Kenneth Ale and his
wife Carol and Rodney Ale and his wife Flossie all of Hopewell Township;
a sister, Shirley Ale Foster of Tampa, FL, 8 grandchildren, 14
great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the
PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township on
Thursday, February 19th at 12 noon.
Burial will take place at Fernwood
Memorial Park in Hopewell Township.
Friends will be received at the
funeral home on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
