Anne Meehan, age 83, of Bridgeton
and formerly of Upper Deerfield Township, died Friday, July 24, 2009
at the South Jersey Regional Medical Center where she had been a
patient for two days. She had been in declining health for the past
year.
Mrs. Meehan was born in
Philadelphia on July 6, 1926 to the late Edwin S. Livingston and Mary
Mullen Livingston. She was the wife of the late Robert P. Meehan. She
had been residing with her son, Joseph “Pat” Meehan and his wife Mary
for six years and had lived in Upper Deerfield Township since 1981
when she moved to the area from Philadelphia.
She had formerly been employed with
the Philadelphia National Bank for several years and the Seabrook
Housing Authority.
Mrs. Meehan was an active member of
Immaculate Conception Church in Bridgeton where she was involved with
the CCD Program and the Church Food Program.
In addition to her son Joseph, she
is survived by a son, Thomas J. Meehan and his wife Trudi of
Philadelphia; a daughter, Constance Goodwin and her husband Harry of
Bensalem, PA; a brother, Donald J. Livingston of Woodridge, VA; three
sisters, Mary Smith of York, PA and Gloria Talone and Frances Dockray
both of Newtown Square, PA, 14 grandchildren and 13
great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers, Edwin S.,
John J. and Thomas Livingston and a sister, Margaret Livingston.
The Funeral Liturgy will be
celebrated Thursday morning, July 30th at 10 A.M. at St. Teresa of
Avila Church, 46 Central Avenue, Bridgeton.
Burial will take place at Laurel
Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Township.
Friends will be received at the
church on Thursday morning from 9 to 10 A.M. prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers the family asks
that contributions in Mrs. Meehan’s memory be made to Cumberland
Manor-Activities Department, 154 Sunny Slope Drive, Bridgeton, NJ
08302.
