Paul R. Harden

Paul R. Harden, age 76, of Vineland died Wednesday evening at the South Jersey HealthCare HospiceCare Unit in Bridgeton where he had been a patient for five days following a two year period of declining health.

Born in Millville, he was the son of the late Paul Harden and Litha Stanley Harden. A Vineland resident for the past two years, he had previously lived in Millville and Port Norris.

Mr. Harden was employed in the construction trade with Union Local 415, Atlantic City, of the Laborer’s International Union of North America.

He was a member of the Bethel A.M.E. Church in Millville where he had served as Church Treasurer.

Surviving are six daughters, Lydia Harden and Louise Harden of Vineland, Eugenia Harden of Seabrook and Bernadine Harden, Gail Ennals and Shirley Harden all of Millville; two sons, Richard Harden of Florence and Manfred Harden of Millville; his loving companion, Catherine Harden of Vineland; seven step-daughters, Betty Green of Millville, Amy Powers, Yvonne Harris, Lorraine Cannon and Crystal Smith all of Vineland, Sabena Smith of Bridgeton and Edna Diaz of Salem; five step-sons, Clarence Young, Jr. and Sydney Johnson, Jr. both of Millville, Tony Johnson and Curtis Johnson of Vineland and Keith Johnson of Virginia; four sisters, Nina Harden and Shirley Harden of Millville and Doris Whyte and Pearl Hull of Vineland, 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and his first wife, Lydia Harden of Millville. He was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy Norton and Elizabeth Robinson and two brothers, William and Harry Harden and a step-daughter, Carolyn Trader.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 21st at 12 Noon at the Bethel A.M.E. Church, 5th and Smith Streets in Millville.

Burial will take place at Haleyville Methodist Cemetery, Commercial Township.

Friends will be received at the church on Monday from 11 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services.

Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Cedarville.
