Clarence F. Jenkins, III, age 50,
of Newport died suddenly and unexpectedly Sunday, September 13, 2009
after being stricken while he was performing in Millville with his
band, “Faith or Fear”.
A Newport resident most of his life
he was the son of Marlene Carter Jenkins and Clarence F. Jenkins, Jr.
For the past six years Clarence has
been employed as a Guitar Craftsman, building guitars at Musickraft in
Buena. He had also previously worked at Tomlin Brothers Auto Body in
Haleyville as an auto detailer and at Totally Auto in Philadelphia as
a restorer of classic Mopar cars.
A graduate of the Bridgeton High
School Class of 1976, he also served with the Army National Guard in
Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.
In addition to his mother and
stepfather, John Bradford both of Newport and his father and
stepmother, Janet of Tupelo, MS, he is survived by two sisters, Karen
J. Connors of Millville and Lisa F. Jenkins of Newport; a brother,
David Jenkins, Sr. and his wife Michelle of Dividing Creek; nieces and
nephews Bobby Gant, Jr. of Millville, Douglas Jenkins Bertucci of
Newport, Kristy Gant of Bridgeton, David Gant of Millville, Jennifer
Jenkins Bertucci of Hopewell Township, Brittany Jenkins of Greenwich
and Petie Quinones, Jason Shaw and David Jenkins, Jr. all of Dividing
Creek; four great nieces, Kayleigh Leyman, Angelina Bertucci, Olivia
Bertucci and Adrienne Ledden and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He
is also survived by the members of his music family, his band “Faith
or Fear”.
Funeral services will be held at
the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 160 Main Street, Cedarville on Friday,
September 18th at 11 AM.
Burial will take place at Newport
Baptist Cemetery, Downe Township.
Friends will be received on Friday
from 10 to 11 AM prior to the services at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family asks
that contributions be made to a trust fund established for Brittany
