Deloris J. Swan, 73, of Dividing
Creek, died unexpectedly in the Atlantic County Regional Medical Center
on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010.
She was born in Grossville, Ill., and was the daughter of the late David
Swan and Hilda Goodman Swan Taylor.
Deloris had resided in Dividing Creek for the past 20 years and prior to
that she had been a resident of Bridgeton.
Retired in 1993, she had formerly been employed with the Lakehurst Naval
Air Equipment Center in Lakehurst for 36 years. Before that she had been
employed with the Philadelphia Naval Center. After her retirement she
had been employed with Specialties Systems, Inc. in Toms River. She had
also worked part-time with the B. W. Stetson Co. in Bridgeton , K & R.
Vending in Upper Deerfield and at Cumberland Regional High School.
Survivors include: her loyal companion of 52 years, Mary Murphy,
Dividing Creek; one sister, Gaynelle Lloyd, Folkston, Ga., one niece,
Euleen Steedley, Folkston, Ga.; one nephew, Jason Steedley, (Debra Ganey),
Folkston, Ga., and one great nephew, Jay Steedley, Folkston, Ga. She was
preceded in death by a brother, David Swan.
Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 160 Main St.,
Cedarville, on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 13, at 3:00 O’clock. Because of
the severe weather conditions, a Memorial Service will also be announced
at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be
made, in Doloris’ memory, to your favorite charity. Written condolences
