Wesley G. Finley, Jr.

Wesley G. Finley, Jr., age 86, of Upper Deerfield Township died Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at South Jersey Hospital-Elmer where he had been a patient for two days. He had been in declining health for the past two years.

A lifetime resident, Mr. Finley was born in Upper Deerfield Township on May 29, 1923 to the late Wesley G. Finley and Minnie Swartz Finley. He was the husband of Doris Palm Finley.

Before his retirement, Wes had been a self employed auto mechanic and had owned and operated his own used car dealership. He also farmed on his property in Upper Deerfield.

A longtime and active member of the Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, he had been involved with the original Bridgeton Congregation and later with the establishment of the Centerton Congregation Kingdom Hall which is located next to his home.

Wes had driven race cars at the former Vineland Speedway and had enjoyed traveling with his wife Doris in their motor home for many years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two nieces, several cousins and other close family members and friends including the Palm family.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday morning, January 27th at 11 AM at the Centerton Congregation Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Husted Station Road in Upper Deerfield Township with William Hannan officiating as Speaker.

Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Mr. Finley’s memory be made to the Centerton Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Husted Station Road, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
