Carnell R. Nanney

Mrs. Carnell Raynor Norris Nanney age 90 of 513 North Raleigh Street, Wallace died Saturday May 9, 2009 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday May 11, 2009 from Northeast Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Herbert Carter and Rev. Lester Hunter. Burial will follow in Cavenaugh Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Celia Norris Barnes and husband,William, of Charleston, WV and Mrs. Annis Norris Weeks and husband, Robert, of Raleigh, step-son, Don Nanney and wife Mary Elna of Mooresville, one sister, Mrs. Sallie Garriss of Wallace, one sister-in-law, Mrs. Nancy Raynor of Jonesboro, Ga., grandchildren, Ann Harmer and husband, Scott, of Raleigh and Will Barnes and wife, Sherrie, of Clayton, great grandchildren, Kristin Barnes, Caroline Harmer, Elizabeth Harmer, Katie Barnes, David Barnes, Emily Harmer and Page Harmer, eight nieces and seven nephews.
A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Nanney was the daughter of the late Authur and Lula Sholar Raynor and the widow of Horace E. Norris and Paul C. Nanney. She was always active in her church and a true servant of Christ. She was a long standing, faithful member of the American Legion Auxilary, Woodman of the World, and her Wednesday morning prayer group of Wallace
The family will receive at Padgett Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday and at her residence, 513 North Raleigh Street, Wallace other times.
