Charlie Eakins Obituary

Charlie Curtis Eakins of Watha departed this earthly life for his eternal life on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 while at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.  Born on January 6, 1959 in Pender County, he was the son of the late Charlie Earl and Reginald Ann Scronce Eakins.

Surviving are his wife--Sally Sutton Eakins of the home; sister--Janet Eakins Bitting and husband Duncan of Watha; niece--Kelsey Bitting Edwards and husband Kevin of Watha; and great niece--Shiloh Gardenia Edwards of Watha.

Charlie loved joking with anyone that was around him.  He enjoyed NASCAR racing and loved his dogs.  It was his delight to talk about hunting and fishing escapades from the days of his early life.  His most favorite food to eat was peanut butter, which he loved dearly.  He valued his family more than anything else in his earthly life.

A memorial service to honor his life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2019  in the Shiloh Baptist Church--19685 US Hwy 421--Willard, NC.  Officiating will be Reverend Leo Bracken and Reverend Gardner Eakins.  The family will greet friends prior to the service at 2:00 p.m. and at other times at the residence.
