Donald Ray Houston

Donald Ray Houston, 75, of Teachey, NC, left his earthly life on Monday, November 4, 2019 unexpectedly.  Born in Duplin County on October 21, 1944, he is the son of the late Harvey Andrew and Martha May Brock Houston.  He is also predeceased by brothers—Joseph Houston, Roy Houston, and James Houston.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his children—Judy Norris and husband Terry of Beulaville, Jeffrey Ray Houston and special friend Amber of Wallace, and “his little girl” Larissa Baysden of Beulaville; grandchildren—Katie Foy of Faison, Travis Foy of Beulaville, and Justin Pierce of Wallace; great grandchild—Bryson McCarty; and his “special love” Gail Smith of Wallace.

Mr. Houston was a professional house painter who worked a good part of his life in the Duplin County area.  He enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking and eating his fish.  He had a bubbly personality but at the same time reserved and he loved helping others.  He loved family dearly and his best times were spent “hanging out” with family and friends.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm officiated by Reverend Terry Norris.  Interment will be in Devotional Gardens of Warsaw.
