Gracie Catherine (Hall) Cavenaugh

Gracie Hall Cavenaugh departed her earthly home for her heavenly home on Sunday, May 5, 2019, while at Pender Memorial Hospital in Burgaw, NC.  Born on June 30, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Lee Roy "Roy" Hall, Sr. and Flora Amelia Wrench Hall.  She was also predeceased by  her husband of sixty-seven years, Julious R. "J.R." Cavenaugh; brother and sister-in-law Lee Roy, Jr. and Mary Hall; sister and brother-in-law Frances and W. J. Faircloth; brother-in-law Jack Grady; and granddaughter Cynthia Smith.

Left to cherish her memory are her children--Annette Herndon and husband Charles, Larry Cavenaugh and wife Pearl; sisters--Etta Grady, Elizabeth "Liz" Tharp and husband Paul, Carolyn Chestnut and husband Johnny; brother--W.  B. "Billy" Hall and wife Frances; grandsons--Brian Herndon and wife Andolyn, Matthew Cavenaugh; grandson-in-law Joe Smith, Jr.; granddaughter--Regina Jackson; great granddaughters--Sarahna Herndon and Haizley Herndon; great grandsons--Ryan Smith, Bryce Smith, Abel Jackson, and Levy Jackson.

Mrs. Cavenaugh worked long hours in her beauty shop until her health no longer permitted it.  She was true to her Lord and attended the Pentecostal Church as long as her health allowed her to do so.  Her family was always the center of her attention and the grandchildren and great grandchildren were the loves of her life.  She also shared her love with everyone she encountered and she did her part to make everyone around her happy.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Padgett Funeral and Cremation Services chapel in Wallace, followed by a visitation.  Interrment will be in Devotional Gardens In Warsaw at 3:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that one consider a contribution, in her memory, to the Boys and Girls Home of North Carolina--Attention: Donor Department--P.O.Box 127--Lake Waccamaw, North Carolina 28450.  Padgett Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the Cavenaugh family.
