Ivey Jones, Jr. Obituary

Mr. Ivey Jones, Jr. of Wallace, North Carolina passed from his earthly life to his eternal life on Saturday, September 7, 2019 while at home.  Born on August 29, 1945, he is the son of the late Ivey Jones, Sr. and Mary Ellen Rackley Jones.  He is also predeceased by his wife of thirty-nine years—Charlotte T. Jones; sister—Jean Wells; brothers-in-law—Joe Murphy, M.N. Murphy, Louis Teachey, and Max Teachey; and sisters-in-law—Doris Foust and Helen Shearin.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his son—Ivey Jones III of Wallace; grandchildren—Maddison Joey Jones of Rose Hill, Jocelyn Charlotte Jones of Wallace and Brailey Jones and wife Anna of Rose Hill; great grandsons—Hudson Wayne Jones, Nikolai Emiliano Jones and Braelyn Jeffrey McFadden, all of Rose Hill; sisters—Kathryn Teachey and husband Bobby of Wallace and Jeanete Murphy of Wallace; and brother-in-law—Philip Wells of Rose Hill.

Early in life Mr. Jones fulfilled his military obligation while serving two years in the United States Army from 1967 til 1969.  He was a member of the Rockfish Country for thirty plus years where he served on numerous committees and did a large amount of construction repair for the club.  He was the “fan of fans” of the Wallace Rose Hill High School football teams during the past thirty-five years and assisted the teams and coaches in many, many ways during those years—missing only four games in this long period of time.  This shows his elite love for the school.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the Wallace First Baptist Church in Wallace, NC.  The  family will receive friends at the residence.  To honor his love for the Wallace Rose Hill Bulldogs, the family requests that flowers use the colors of the team: orange, black, and white (in any combination of colors) or please consider a contribution to the WRHHS Bulldog Booster Club—Post Office Box 1060—Wallace, NC 28466.  A service of Padgett Funeral and Cremation Services of Wallace.
