James Worth Williams of Rose Hill, NC, left his earthly life for his eternal home on the evening of February 18, 2019 while at home. Born on January 19, 1943, he was the son of the late Ishmael Worth and Letitia Wilson Williams of Duplin County, NC.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife--Nina Cavenaugh Williams of the home; sons--Jim Williams and wife Lehana of Chinquapin, Kevin Williams and wife Debbie of Rose Hill, and John Williams and wife Heather of Wallace; sister--Sharon Teachey and husband Jerry of Watha; grandchildren--Katelan Williams Albertson and husband Dylan of Beulaville, Cheslee Williams Grady and husband David of Albertson, Jim Williams, Jr of Elon, Everett Williams and wife Candace of Wallace, Hailey Williams of Rose Hill, and Haven Williams of Rose Hill; great grand children--Maddox Albertson of Beulaville, Isla Kate Albertson of Beulaville, and Rhett Grady of Albertson.
Mr. Williams loved softball from an early age when he played on one of the adult league teams in Duplin County and coached James Sprunt softball teams. Later in life he was a wonderful supporter of the grandchildren as they played the sport. While he enjoyed playing the card game "Setback", he also enjoyed being outside mowing grass. The "Cub" tractor, the John Deere, and the Ford truck were among his most favorite earthly possessions. He always loved to travel and spending quality time making memories with his grandchildren. He loved his family with all his heart and spoiling the grandchildren was something he viewed very seriously.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the 401 West Main Street chapel of Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services in Wallace. The family will greet friends at a 10:00 A.M. visitation prior to the service and at other times at the residence. Interment will be in Jacob Cavenaugh Cemetery on Hwy 41 in Wallace.
