June Potter Blalock of Wallace, NC died on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Vidant Medial Center in Greenville, NC. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Rockfish Memorial Cemetery in Wallace, NC conducted by Dr. Phillip Gladden. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at Wallace Presbyterian Church conducted by Dr. Phillip Gladden. A reception will follow the services at Wallace Presbyterian Church in the Currie Hall.

June was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William Laurin Blalock, Jr. June is survived by her daughter—Emily Haskett Blalock Seger and husband Geoffrey of Cincinnati, OH; her son William Laurin Blalock III and wife Alessandra of Castenaso, Italy; four grandchildren—Owen Johns Seger and Moira Haskett Seger of Cincinnati, OH, and Philip William Blalock and Nicholas John Blalock of Castenaso, Italy; her sister—Emily Potter Pensinger and husband Dick L. Pensinger of Wilmington, NC along with numerous nieces and nephews.

June was born on June 3, 1936 in Duplin County to the late Henry Lawrence Potter and Emily Clifton Potter.

June worked for many years as a language arts teacher in the North Carolina public school system. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially adored her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, bingo, history and had a soft spot for orphaned cats.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in June’s memory to Wallace Presbyterian Church, 205 West Main Street, Wallace, NC 28466 for the prayer shawl ministry.
