Richard Allan Woford

Richard Allan Woford of Wallace, NC passed from this life on the early morning of Tuesday, April 16, 2019 while at home.  Born on May 28, 1954, he was the son of James Purdom and Catherine Margie Morris Woford of Lebanon , Kentucky.  He was predeceased by his father--James Purdom Woford and a sister--Theresa Ellen Woford Gootee.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife--Linda Diann Woford of Wallace; mother--Catherine Margie Woford of Lebanon, KY; Melissa Grace Staub and husband Daniel of Jacksonville, NC, Cynthia Faye Sharrock and husband Todd of Easley, SC, and Jamie Dail and wife Maria of Wallace; grandchildren--Kaitlyn Alicia Moyer, Allyson Grace Straub, Kenneth Myrl Straub and wife Jennifer, Samantha Lyren Davis and husband Stuart all of Jacksonville, Riley Gabriel Sharrock and McKinnley Reese Sharrock of Easley, SC, Fallon Nicole Dail, Cody Lane Dail, and Taylor Rae Dail all of Wallace; three great grandchildren; thirteen nieces and nephews; siblings--Judy Carol Woford Ewing of Knoxville (TN), James Purdom Woford and wife  Anita of Lebanon (KY), and Sissy Lee Woford Walls and husband Keith of Bardstown (KY).

Mr. Woford came to North Carolina as a United States Marine and was stationed at Camp Lejeune.  He later met and married Linda Diann Woford.  As a volunteer, he spent several years in the Wallace Fire Department.  His sportsman side gave him a keen interest in fishing and he also loved to cook.

A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday evening, April 18, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services. Conducting the service will be Reverend Buster Price and Reverend David Walker.  Interment will be in the Dail Cemetery on Friday at 10:00 a.m.
