Thomas Wayne Benton

Thomas Wayne Benton of Teachey, NC departed his earthly life on Friday, January 17, 2020 while at home.  Born on October 1, 1952, he was the son of the late William Hubert and Doris Lee Young Benton of Duplin County, NC.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter--Jennifer Benton Minter and husband Eric of Wilmington; sister--Kathy Benton Wicker and husband Mack of Sanford, NC; brother--Keith Benton and wife Susan of Rocky Point; and special friend--Allanda Parrish of Elizabethtown, NC.

He was employed during his career as a safety and water quality officer for DuPont and House of Raeford.  He enjoyed motorcycle riding, sailing, and all music, especially the Beatles and beach music.  During his life, he enjoyed spending time at White Lake and Topsail Beach.  He loved and enjoyed time with his family most of all.

A memorial service to honor his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2020 in the chapel of Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services--401 West Main Street--Wallace, N C.  Family will greet friends immediately after the service in the chapel.  Family asks that, rather than flowers, contributions be made to the Lower Cape Fear Life Care Center--1414 Physicians Drive--Wilmington, NC 28401.
