Mr. Adell Quinton Henderson age 90 of 140 Henderson Lane, Wallace died Sunday, November 1, 2009 at his residence. A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at The Church at Pin Hook conducted by Rev. George (Buster) Price and a Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 4, 2009 in Dail Cemetery at Pin Hook. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mrs. Lillie Casteen Henderson of the home; six daughters, Sally Grant of Warsaw, Virgie Hamilton of Asheboro, Kay Smith and husband Mike and Barbara James and husband Stanley of Wallace, Neva Harts and husband Mike of Rocky Point, and Sharron Batchelor and husband Larry of Topsail Island; four sons, Adell \"Sambo\" Henderson, Jr., Ricky Henderson and wife Wendy , and Randy Henderson of Wallace, and Otis Henderson and wife Barbara of Richlands; twenty-nine grandchildren; forty-three great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Gladys Casteen, Esther Henderson and Louise Farmer; one step-sister; Lucy Godwin; and one very special uncle and friend, Russell Pierce of Wallace. Born November 24, 1918 in Duplin County, Mr. Henderson is the son of the late Daw Tate Henderson and Rutha Pierce Henderson Cavenaugh. Hs is preceded in death by two sons, Hilton Lee Henderson and Curtis \"Johnson\" Henderson; one grandson, Keith Dwayne Henderson; three sisters, Grace Padgette, Mildred Albertson, Maxine Dail; and one brother, Floyd \"Joe\" Henderson. Mr. Henderson served in the U.S. Army and attended Pin Hook Church where he was an active member and served as deacon for over thirty years. He was a loving husband and father. He was also a pillar of the community and will be greatly missed. Family will receive friends immediately following the service at The Church at Pin Hook and at their residence 140 Henderson Lane other times.
