Mr. Adrian Atwood Johnson age 91 of Rose Hill died Monday May 9, 2011 at Pender Memorial Hospital in Burgaw. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mrs. Phoebe Lefler Johnson, of the home, one daughter, Mrs. Katherine Norris and husband Donald of Willard, one son, David Johnson and wife Anita of Rose Hill, three grandchildren, Jason Norris, Amanda Johnson and Tracey Johnson, one great grandson, Dillon Norris, one sister, Mrs. Mattie Farrior of Wallace and one brother, Willie Johnson of Orlando, FLA. A native of Duplin County, Mr. Johnson was the son of the late Leroy Franklin and Atwood Peterson Johnson and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. He was a great raccoon hunter, liked gardening, working with cows and farming and was a member of the Duplin County Coon Hunters Association. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Katie Johnson, Cora Johnson, Victoria Stephens and Pauline Wells, two brothers, Ransom Johnson and Ashby Johnson.
