Mrs. Angelene Michelle Pinyatello Dixon, age 94 of Wallace, NC, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at her residence surrounded by family. Funeral Mass will be conducted at11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 27 at the Transfiguration Catholic Church conducted by Father John-Alex Gonzalez. Burial will follow at Rockfish Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
She is survived by three children, John Dixon and wife Andrea of Wallace, NC, Beth Blackwell and husband John of Wallace, NC and Cheryl Teachey of Rose Hill, NC, eleven grandchildren, Gregory Teachey of Philadelphia, PA, Michelle Mills and husband Kevin of Washington, NC, Donna Fannin and husband Jimmy of Beulaville, NC, Bartley Dixon and wife Nicolette of Raleigh, NC, Brittany Lee and husband Alex of Wilmington, NC, Tyler Dixon, Logan Dixon, Lauren Dixon and Blake Brinson all of Wallace, NC, Krystin Henderson of Raleigh, NC, and Devin Rich and wife Cathy of Wallace, NC, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Born March 29, 1919 in Duplin County, Mrs. Dixon was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Elizabeth (Sutton) Pinyatello and was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Hubert Wallace Dixon, five brothers, Lewis Pinyatello, Dominic Pinyatello, Joseph Pinyatello, Tony Pinyatello and Phillip Pinyatello and a sister Mary Jackson. Mrs. Dixon was a devoted member of the Transfiguration Catholic Church. Known as the \"Income Tax Lady\", Angelene ran her own business as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and had done so for more than 50 years in the community. Mrs. Dixon had received her CPA degree from Pinelord College in Salemburg, NC. She loved the outdoors, spending time camping at Salter Path Campgrounds in Morehead City. She also enjoyed flowers, cooking, clamming, and working in her yard. She especially loved her family. She was the kind of woman that loved everyone and would go out of her way to help you.
Casket bearers will be Kevin Mills, George Osborne, Kevin Everette, Jimmy Fannin, Devin Rich, and Blake Brinson.
