Mrs. Annie Maude Parker Stokes, age 84 of Wallace, NC, passed away October 9, 2014 at Brian Center Health & Rehab in Wallace, NC. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel in Wallace, NC conducted by the Reverends Buster Price and Jerry Marshburn. Burial will follow at Cavenaugh Cemetery in Wallace, NC. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Jacob Dawson Stokes of Wallace, NC, two sons, Dawson Ray Stokes of Charlotte, NC and Jimmie Allen Stokes and wife Elsie of Wallace, NC, one sister, Evelyn Pauley and husband Buddy Gene of Jacksonville, NC, two granddaughters, two grandsons, one great granddaughter, six great grandsons, one great great granddaughter and one great great grandson due this month. Born January 6, 1930 in Duplin County, NC, Mrs. Stokes was the daughter of the late Eli and Edith Sholar Parker and was preceded in death by three brothers, John Parker, George Parker, and Marvin Parker and two sisters, Molly P. Norris and Ella P. Batchelor. Annie was a member of North East Pentecostal Church. She loved the Lord and her family was the most important part of her life. She taught Sunday School for many years. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Casketbearers will be Stratton Stokes, Brandon Stokes, Blake Stokes, Brooks Pickett, Brady Pickett and Steven Kennedy.
