Mrs. Betty Mae Duff Bradshaw of the Northeast community of Wallace departed her life here on earth on the afternoon of Sunday, May 17, 2026 while in the Novant Health NHRMC in Wilmington (NC). Born May 1, 1947, she is the daughter of the late Robert Edward and Maggie Davis Duff, who lived in Wallace. Also preceding her in death are siblings—Jimmy Duff, Robert Duff, and Bonnie Gunter.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband—David Royal Bradshaw; children—Christy Bradshaw Cantrell and husband Gary of Wallace and Penny Bradshaw of Wallace; grandchildren—Jade Ann Parham and husband Alan of Wallace and Landon William Cantrell of Wallace; siblings—Terry Duff and wife Delane of Wallace and Tommy Brown of Rocky Point; sister-in-law—Connie Duff of Wallace; many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews who adored her; special friend—Faye English; and “her back row church sisters”.
Mrs. Betty’s entire life was lived in the Wallace area. After marriage to her “sweetheart” David Bradshaw, the two spent sixty wonderful years together in the Northeast Community outside of Wallace. Family was the center of her world whether it was her children, her grandchildren, her siblings, or her nieces and nephews. They were all especially dear to her and they knew it. She worked twenty plus years in banking before retiring. For many years she was a loyal member of the Northeast Church where she was a devoted Sunday School teacher for children for more than thirty years. Over the years she and Ms. Faye English spent a lot of their Sunday afternoons visiting the sick and shut-ins of the community.
A service to celebrate her life is set for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026 in the chapel of Padgett Funeral Home in Wallace, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Little Creek Cemetery at 360 Hanchey Road in the Northeast community. Officiating will be Pastor Aubrey Avery. Family relates that flowers are welcome or please consider a contribution to the Northeast Church Building Fund.
