Betty Sue Wallace Cavenaugh of Richlands, NC, passed from her earthly life on the morning of Tuesday, September 22, 2026, while at home. Born on December 20, 1938, she is the daughter of the late Adrian Halsa and Lela Ellen Blanton Wallace. Also preceding her in death are daughter—Betty Jo Zatko Brannon; sister—Eleanor Wallace Brinkley; brothers—Joseph Council Wallace, Dulan Adrian Wallace, and Frank Gene Wallace.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters—Annalisa Boney Southerland and Dawn Cavenaugh McLean; grandchildren—Whitney Findeisen Baker (Ricky), Colbie Southerland Jarman (Evan), Randy West Findeisen II (Janie), Riley Stephen Findeisen, and William Boone McLean; great grandchildren—Cooper Bree Jarman, Brooks Owen Jarman, and Merritt West Findeisen (who will be arriving very soon); and her loving companion and fur baby—“Kobe”.

Mrs. Cavenaugh grew up in the farm life of Duplin County and learned the value of hard work and gained a great deal from her diligence in the things she accomplished. She was always a pretty lady who placed great value in the way she presented herself. Always very close to her parents and siblings, she also loved her three children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with an unlimited affection for them. Decorating for all holidays was a true joy in life for her. During her later years when health was not at its best, she was never one who gave up.

A service to celebrate her life is set for 12 Noon on Friday, September 25, 2026, in the chapel of Padgett Funeral Home in Wallace. Family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor Chris Jarman.
