Bruce Simmons, age 64, of Wallace, NC, passed from his earthly life on Thursday, September 29, 2022 while at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC.  Born in Cumberland County on June 16, 1958, he is the son of the late Exum Ward Simmons, Sr. and Lena Belle Raynor Simmons.  Also preceding him in death is a sister—Anita Simmons Boykin.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Heather Simmons; his brothers—Exum Ward Simmons, Jr. and Kenneth Alan Simmons of Willard; and his good friend—Jerry Hall Padgett.  Mr. Simmons was a painter by profession and worked for various painting contractors in the area.

At his request, no formal arrangements are planned at the present.
