Mr. Carl \"C.J.\" Jenkins James, 82, of Wallace, NC, passed away Monday, September 20, 2010 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. He was the oldest son of the late Emil and Mary Henry Jenkins James. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Sellers James, and daughters, Jamie James and Jennifer Lou James. He is survived by his son, Carl Mitchell James of Wallace, NC. He is also survived by his brothers, Daniel \"Henry\" James of Palm Beach, FL, William \"Billy\" James of Burgaw, NC, Elwood \"Woody\" James of Columbia, SC, and Harold Lloyd \"Pap\" James of Sanford, NC. C.J. was a graduate of Wallace High School and attended Louisburg College. He was a veteran who served in the United States Air Force. He returned to Wallace and started James' Amoco. Mr. James owned and operated James' Used Cars for 59 years in Wallace, NC. He was fondly remembered by a very dear friend and co-worker, Jimmy Lee Washington of Willard, NC. He will be dearly missed by his special friend Earlene Southerland.
