Mr. Cecil Carson (Sambo) Giddeons age 71 of 612 East Southerland Street, Wallace passed away on August 26, 2009 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday August 29, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Wallace conducted by Rev. Tommy Blanton and Rev. Ben Burroughs. Burial will follow in Rockfish Memorial Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mrs. Jean Lanier Giddeons of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Kimberly Giddeons Quinn and husband Jay of Wallace; two grandchildren, Jack Quinn and Anna Carson Quinn, both of Wallace; two step-grandchildren, I. J. Quinn, III of Chicago, IL and Staci Quinn of Warsaw, and one special son, J. L. Giddeons of Willard; three sisters, Mrs. Sarah G. Blanton and husband Joe of Wallace, Mrs.Laura G. Johnson of Wallace and Mrs. Juanita G. Wells of Teachey; one brother, Leophas (Possum) Giddeons and wife Annette of Wallace. Born in Pender County, Mr. Giddeons was the son of the late Leonard Cleveland Giddeons, Sr. and Clydie Elizabeth Rivenbark Giddeons. He was the owner/operator of Giddeon's Body Shop Inc. for 31 years. He had five employees, Eric Boone, Elliott Brinson, Tracy Brinson, Jimmy James and Felicia Preston. He also had a special household employee for 30 plus years, Mrs. Dollie Kenan. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary G. Brock and Lucille G. Proctor and three brothers, Leon Giddeons, William Giddeons, Sr. and L. C. Giddeons, Jr. Casketbearers will be Chuck Johnson, Mike Bryant, Greg Matthews, Charles Register, Charlie Register and Dale Blackwelder. Honorary bearers will be Joe Brinson, Bobby Blanton, John Faircloth, Bob Canon, David Brooks and Orin O'. Quin.
