Mr. Daniel Vance Norris age 77 of Teachey, NC, died early Sunday morning, February 15, 2015 from complications of a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 3:00 at Island Creek Baptist Church in Rose Hill, NC conducted by Dr. Ronald Ginn. Burial will follow at Brice's Cemetery in Wallace, NC. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 16 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Padgett Funeral Home in Wallace, NC. Dan is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kara Ramsey Norris of the home, his son, Daniel Keith Norris of Castle Hayne, NC, his daughter, Nancy Norris Davis and Tim Woodcock of Wallace, NC, three granddaughters, Bailey Katherine Davis of Wallace, NC, Jenna Leigh Davis of Wallace, NC and Kendall Marie Woodcock of Burgaw, NC and his brother, Johnny Lynn Norris of Rose Hill, NC. Dan was born on December 9, 1937 in Duplin County to the late Daniel Adolphus and Ethelyn Brice Norris. Dan was a retired pressman from the Wallace Enterprise. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially adored his granddaughters. He enjoyed church activities with his family and friends and also enjoyed teaching Sunday School. He also served as a Deacon of Island Creek Baptist Church. He loved bird hunting and being outdoors. Casket Bearers will be Tony Bradshaw, Tommy Bradshaw, Luke Bradshaw, Joseph Craig, Kim Hickman and Joseph Craig, Jr. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Jimmy Parker and the Adult Men's Sunday School Class and Deacons of Island Creek Baptist Church.
